Kilchoan and Community Center

Kilchoan is the main settlement of the peninsula, that’s where you’ll find most amenities. The Community Centre is at the heart of the local life, hosting activities and community events, it has a cafe and a craft shop.

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse
(open April - October inclusive, check opening hours)

The Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is a community owned listed landmark. There is a day parking and you can take part in a guided tours giving access to superb views at the top of the tower.

The lighthouse is also a known location to spot maritime wildlife and the most westerly point of Scotland mainland.

The community garden provides fresh local produce to residents and visitors.

Glenborrodale, RSPB Nature Reserve

The Nature Reserve a is home to wood warblers, redstarts and spotted flycatchers. Embark on a guided walk and you might be lucky enough to see an otter or a seal frolicking along the shore. Parking facility available and nature trails.


Glenbeg, Ardnamurchan Distillery

The Ardnamurchan Distillery has a Visitors Centre and shop, you can take part in one of the Distillery Tours.

Camas Tórsa, Forestry and Land Commission

Camas Torsa reminds us that this area was a Viking stronghold a thousand years ago. Its Gaelic name means ‘the bay of Thor’s river’. Today it’s a tranquil place with wonderful views across Loch Sunart to Glencripesdale National Nature Reserve. Watch out for seals, otters and sea eagles fishing in the loch.

Corran Ferry linking Ardgour to Corran 7 days a week, check timetable.

Single track road from Strontian to the west of the Peninsula. It can take longer than you might expect. Travel time from the Corran Ferry to Kilchoan is about 1 hour 45 min.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery Ardnamurchan has to offer, but please leave no trace of your visit behind, especially when visiting sites of historical importance.

There is amazing wildlife to spot here, with livestock that move freely around the peninsula, including near and on the roads. Please drive carefully. Always keep your distance, especially during lambing and nesting season. Always keep your dog in sight and under control.

Look for any signage before roaming, and close all gates behind you.

Be aware of other road users and local residents when you park. Park sensibly and do not create an obstruction. Always use a spot that is not a passing place.
